Creating Kits: A Step-by-Step Guide

This guide will walk you through creating kits, which are bundles of products sold as a set.

What are Kits?

Think of a kit as your curated collection — a bundled package of select items that you offer as one cohesive unit. It's like putting together a 'Best of' album where each track (or product) is a hit on its own, but when combined, creates an experience greater than the sum of its parts.

Step 2: Add the Parent SKU

To create a kit, you first need a Parent SKU. Click on the “Add a product” button and create a product to use as your Parent SKU. The Parent SKU represents the complete kit. See How to Add a Product for more details

Step 5: Setting Component Quantities

If your kit includes multiple quantities of a single product, you’ll need to adjust the quantities accordingly. Click on Quick Edit and set the correct amount for each component. See How to Add a Product in Inventory for more details
Once all components are added with correct quantities, review the kit to ensure everything is accurate. Your changes are saved automatically.

Pro Tip: ShipHero automatically calculates the availability of kits based on the inventory of the kit components. Always ensure that component SKUs have accurate inventory counts for proper kit availability.

Editing Kits

If you need to edit your kit, simply navigate back to the 'Products' section, find your kit by typing the Parent SKU in the search bar, and make the necessary changes.
